First portage, arrived 6am, left at 2pm.
Beautiful weather here today. Receives over 150 inches of rain annually, which locals cheerfully call “liquid sunshine” but today we lucked out no rain in sight and off to do our first excursion. We got off our ship early, as our tour was leaving at 8:15. The tour we were taken today was called the Bering Sea crab fisherman’s Tour aboard the Aleutian Ballad. click below to see the history of this ship before it became a tour boat.

During the tour we saw many eagles which were brought closer to our ship with fish bait. Kinda cool. After getting off the ship it was time for a quick lunch and a bit of exploring.
